DID YOU KNOW that Barlow's Alma Mater was composed by our first choir director, J. Robert Barber?

Mr. Barber inspired countless students during his tenure at Barlow, always spurring his students on to greatness. His standards were often staggeringly high, yet it was his insistence on those high standards that motivated his students to do their absolute best.

Years later, his former students thanked him for his insistence that they do their very best. In 2010 many of his former students gathered to honor him with a Choir Reunion.

A committee was formed, and many of those students contributed and flew him back to Oregon from his retirement home in Arkansas, to let him know the impact he had on their lives. Mr. Barber passed away less than a year after this two-day 2010 celebration.

WE LOVE BARLOW

SBHSAA is here because we truly believe in Barlow: the students, the faculty, the administration, the classified staff, the parents, and the entire school community.

It's the mission of the SBHSAA to support Sam Barlow High School as best we can. One of our initial projects will be to establish a Scholarship Fund.

If you believe in Barlow like we do, please consider a donation. As we are a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution will be tax deductible to the extent the law allows. If you prefer, you can MAIL us a check. Contact us for the address.

OUR MISSION

“The mission of the Sam Barlow High School Alumni Association
is to establish ongoing alumni support for Sam Barlow High School
staff and students in their pursuit of excellence.”

SBHSAA is here to support Sam Barlow High School staff and students. An integral part of that mission is to fund scholarships, awarded to deserving Barlow seniors each year. Click HERE to meet our latest scholarship recipients. Our goal is to fund a substantial scholarship to at least one deserving senior every spring. With your help, we can do even more.
